Seminar Series - China's Rise as a Techno-Security State

As the Fall '22 semester came to a close, the International Security Center hosted Dr. Tai Ming Cheung, the director of the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation and a professor the University of California, San Diego's School of Global Policy. The author of several books, Dr. Cheung's latest is "Innovate to Dominate: The Rise of the Chinese Techno-Security State," published by Cornell University Press in 2022.

Dr. Cheung visited Notre Dame to discuss his research and what China's recent history and President Xi Jinping's worldview can tell us about China's response to events like the November 2022 COVID protests.
